TABORA  AND THE NEW LION OF TANZANIA.

 ACCP MR. Athony  Rutha 

MR. Anthony was born in January 24, 1960 at small village of Ibare Karagwe District, in Kagera Region. In a poor family, his father was a teacher at Karagwe Primary school and his mother was a  village farmer.

Between 1962 and 1972, ACP Anthony Rutha went to Ibare Primary School before continuing with middle School between in 1973 and 1976 at Tengeru. Then he joined Bokoba Secondary School for his O-Levels, which took place 1976 and 1979 and he remained at Bukoba Secondary y School for his Advanced level education.His final education step was completed when he graduated from the University of Dar Es Salaam in 1985 with a degree in economics.

He shaped his leadership acumen the police. He first had basic Police training at CCP Moshi National Service Campy in 1989. After few years later in 1985 he returned to CCP Moshi for another official course.After having successful Completion of the course in 1994 he was commissioned ahead Police officer at kalole ni Police Station Arusha. In 2002 he was transferred toTanga and commissioned for senior police officer at korogwe Police Station.

In 2008 he was appointed to be Tabora Regional Police Commission’s Assinntant.
Being assigned the duty ACP Rutha declared war against armed robberies, social crimes like wife beating, and children touchier. And soon he after having entered the office Immidietry he started his mission and his first approach was to end the road accident.

For example from January to December 2010 the road accidents caused by human being was estimated to be 70% of all road. The accident which was caused by poor infrastructure counted 10% where by those caused by exhausted vehicle was 20%. Also by the time he entered the office, there was high rate of increasing accidents caused by bicycles and motorcycle.

The man knocked his head day and night to find out what could be the solution to the problem. In cooperation with Tabora head of Traffic police officers SSP Hamisi Kisandu, and other police officers the man has been able to show the great change in Tabora road safety.

From January to December of 2010/2011, the accident caused loose of human’s lives decreased from 762 up to 619. The number of death caused by road accident decreased from 142 up to 904 which is equal to 10% The accidents which injured people in 2010 were 513 and reduced up to 390. Which is equal to rate of 31.5% from 46.04% of 2011.As well as the number of people who lost their lives decreased from 37 which is equal to35.5%. By now ACP Athony Rutha and Hamis Kindu  has helped Tabora regional gaverment to save its people. Tabora by now should be great ful to ACP Athon Rutha.
