Dear ladies and
gentlemen, first and foremost I would like to take this golden opportunity to
convey my heart feel thanks for choosing and accepting me to be the guest of
honor in this world’s HIV/AIDS day. I thank you very much for coming as many as
you are and greatly by post pounding your activities by recognizing the
necessity of this day in our life. So I welcome you all to listen and learn on
the problems of HIV/AIDS as I believe under this sun we are all victim in
direct or indirect way and it touch us all.
Ladiesand
gentlemen HIV are a virus that attacks the immune system and damages the body's
ability to fight infections.
AIDS is a potentially fatal condition that
develops in the most advanced stage of HIV.
Ladies and
gentleman the medical term for HIV/AIDS are HIVstands human immunodeficiency. AIDS
stands for acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. This disease has no cure and no
treatment it is mostly transmitted from victim to another person by the means
of sexual intercourse and other minor way.
Ladies and gentlemen I would like to inform
you that scientific test proves that HIV spreads through certain bodily fluids
infected blood, semen, genital fluids or breast milk. Also HIV is often
transmitted through unprotected sex or by sharing drug needles. But the fact is
that the virus cannot spread through saliva, tears, sweat, by hugging, by
shaking hands or by mosquitoes.
Ladies and gentlemen the disease is
accompanied with number of signs and Symptom,
Good example is a few months after infection a person may
experience fever, headache, swollen glands and other flu-like symptoms.
Symptoms may disappear for years after the first stage of the infection.
Fatigue, weight loss, night sweats, sores in the mouth or genitals and
pneumonia are symptoms of HIV in later stages.
Ladies and gentlemen although the disease has
no cure but it has treatment and remedies,
In fact thanks to antiretroviral drugs, or
ARVs, people can now live in good health with HIV for decades. ARVs
suppress the amount of the HIV virus in the body.
Ladies and gentlemen it should be noted
that ARVs are not a cure and cannot stop an HIV-positive person from infecting others.
But ARVs have to be taken continuously to work. The World Health Organization
estimates there were 34 million people living with HIV worldwide, and 1 million
AIDS-related deaths and people are extremely contagious during the initial
phase of an HIV infection.
Ladies and gentlemen the
disease is associated with number of problems which covers all aspects of life
economically, socially and politically, to begin with economic problems;
Ladies and gentlemen HIV and AIDS cause a
reduced labor supply through increased mortality and illness. Amongst those who
are able to work, productivity is likely to decline as a result of HIV-related
illness.
Ladies and gentlemen government income also
declines, as tax revenues fall and governments are pressured to increase their
spending to deal with the expanding epidemic.
Ladies and gentlemen AIDS limits the
ability of African countries to attract industries that depend on low-cost
labor, and because of the level of risk, investments in African businesses are
less desirable.
Ladies and gentlemen in fact the impact that
AIDS has had on the economies of African countries is difficult to measure but
scholars estimate that there is a loss of 1% in sub-Saharan Africa’s gross
domestic product (GDP). This may seem small, but it has the potential to grow
over time. After having seen the economic problems ladies and gentlemen let us
now look on the problems on children;
First
and foremost ladies and gentlemen as parents and family members fall ill,
children take on more responsibility to earn an income, produce food, and
provide care for family members. In addition it is harder for these children to
access adequate nutrition.
basic health care,
housing, and clothing.Often if both parents are HIV positive in Africa,
consequently more children have been orphaned by AIDS in Africa than anywhere
else. But not list due to the shortage of time let us look its impact on health
sector;
Ladiesand gentlemen in English we have saying
that that it is better to time the time before the time times you also should
keep in your mind that always rate comers eats bones. Due to the shortage of
time let me end up here thank you for listening may God bless you all and let pray
for the victims to recover and the dead ones to rest in peace. But we have
always to put in our mind that “The HIV/AIDS free generation it begin with us”
