Gender in virtual

Gender in virtual culture started to undergo a deep change with the advent of the new media at the age of the twenty-first century. Consequently, gender perception and gender role assignment are undergoing significant and sometimes unpredictable transformations since everyone in the community can generate his or her own meaning. The free environment that virtual space is providing as well as the phenomenal speed of action it provides has opened new horizons for accessing information.
Before the emergency of virtual culture, women were more and more claiming for status, functionality and dignity in the public sphere while retaining their cultural role in oneself. With virtual culture, women are no longer consumers of stories in this new media, but more and more story-builders and story tellers. As a consequence, women are now engaged in short, medium and long–term actions that are not only transforming the region but also women and men’s mentalities. For example,
In the short term, women are increasingly aware of social programs and readily engage in them at all levels. In the medium term, they are targeting participatory, citizenship rights, becoming, thus, stakeholders in enlightened religious reforms, enlightened textbook reforms, as well as in political decision-making especially in their local communities. In the long term, they are targeting education and empowerment.
On the other hand, gender and virtual culture to men has changed the way how men used to do and act previously. Now days men are not selective in what to do regarding women, they tend to interact with various works or duties that formerly were regarded as women’s responsibilities. For example, the issue of cooking was regarded as women responsibility.
Conclusion.
Therefore, from the above discussion, it is clear that virtual culture has led to the decrease of the gender gap between women and men in daily life and social relations. In simple language one can say that, the effect of virtual culture on gender is gender gap decrease.
